So I'm always asked why I am such a Texas Longhorn fan.

My mom is just like me she can't keep a gift to the point that is REALLY supposed to be given. This is my birthday present. She gave it to me last night LOL! My birthday is in November. This was my dad's class ring from 1960. It has his name on it. I was named after my dad and I was born in 1960. When he was living he took me to UT games going back to my forth grade year.

This photo was taken in Austin, Tx. at the 2009 UT Football season opener against Louisiana Monroe on September 5, 2009. Since I was sitting in disabled seating due to my powerchair, I had a pretty good view of the field. However, my Canon PowerShot SD700 decided to only work when on certain functions. My zoom was going out, too!!! LOL!! Fortunately, though, I was able to get some pretty good shots because I was able to get near the railing. An usher felt bad for me when I told him my zoom was going out. I also explained that I just had to get a good shot because this was my FIRST ever UT game (actually go there, not on TV) and Jordan Shipley was not going to be on the team after this season. So I HAD to get this shot. I was going to have dad do it, but the usher said, "No sweetheart, YOU need to take it!!! You are the one with the camera in your hands. Plus, you know exactly who you want a photo of and your dad doesn't. Shipley may move before your dad can get it". LOL So I got a bit closer thanks to that usher!!! :) Take a look at the notes on this photo. If you look closely, you can see recent NFL draftee, Jordan Shipley--# 8 as a Texas Longhorn. Other than quarterback, Colt McCoy, Shipley is my favorite player from the past few seasons. The 2009 season was Shipley's AND McCoy's last season as Longhorns!!! :( But they were BOTH drafted by the NFL...for rival teams as a matter of fact!!! LOL!!! Jordan Shipley was drafted by the Cincinatti Bengals and Colt McCoy was drafted by the Cleveland Browns. That leaves me in a bit of a quandry. Who do I root for? Jordan and the Bengals OR Colt and the Browns? Any suggestions??? :)
